Physical Chemistry Division Medal

The Division of Physical Chemistry invites nominations for the 2007 Physical Chemistry Division Medal. The Medal will be awarded by the Physical Chemistry Division in recognition of outstanding contributions by an individual to the field of Physical Chemistry in Australia. The conditions of the Medal are listed below. Presentation of the award will take place at CPC2007 (the 6th RACI Conference on Physical Chemistry), to be held in Adelaide from January 28 to February 2, 2007.

Nominations

Nominations may be made by the person seeking the award, or by any member (or members jointly) of The RACI. Nominations made by a third party must be accompanied by a signed acceptance of nomination by the candidate.

Nominations should be made in writing and include all supporting documentation appropriate under Rule 1 (see below), up to a limit of 20 pages. Four copies of all documents should be submitted to the Division Secretary:

Nominations close at 5.00 pm on Friday, October 13, 2006.

Conditions

1. The R.A.C.I. Physical Chemistry Division Medal shall be awarded in recognition of outstanding contributions to the field of Physical Chemistry in Australia. Contributions to any or all of: research, teaching, industry and service to the Division will be considered in making the award.
2. The recipient must be a member of the Royal Australian Chemical Institute.
3. The Medal shall not be awarded more frequently than every two years.
4. The Award shall consist of a Medal and a contribution towards the recipient's expenses to deliver a lecture at a Division conference. The amount of the award will be determined from time to time by the Division Standing Committee.
5. The Selection Committee for the Award shall consist of the Division Chair, Secretary, two previous Chairs, and other such persons to be nominated by the Chair as required.
