Notice of the 2020 RACI Annual General Meeting


In accordance with paragraph 13 of the Constitution of The Royal Australian Chemical Institute Incorporated (RACI), an Annual General Meeting of the RACI is duly summoned.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic the Annual General Meeting of the RACI will take place virtually utilising the zoom platform on Wednesday 25 November 2020 at 13:30 EDST.

As this is a virtual meeting those wishing to attend must please register below. A link to the Zoom meeting will be sent out prior to the meeting.

All members may attend the meeting however the associate members [Associates and U/G students] are not eligible to vote.

  • Vote on the resolution:- Accept the changes proposed to the constitution of the Royal Australian Chemical Institute Inc.

  • The meeting to receive and record the names of the Branch Presidents and Division Chairs

4.6 Appointment of 2020/21 Auditors

  • Propose the meeting retain the services of Stannard and Associates as the Auditors for 2020/21

Changes to the Constitution

 

The constitution was last reviewed in 2015 and the Board believed it was time to refresh the document to reflect current social norms.

Changes include

  • All gender specific terminology, such as he or she, has been removed,
  • a number of definitions have been added to add clarity to the document,
  • the code of ethics has been renamed as the code of conduct,
  • a conflict of interest disclosure paragraph has been added,
  • the term Honorary  has been dropped and the language modernised where required.

The changes are of a cosmetic nature and no real changes have been proposed.  A summary sheet of the changes in the format of :

The meeting will be asked to vote on a resolution to accept the changes proposed to the constitution of the Royal Australian Chemical Institute Inc. For those unable to attend but who wish to vote please download the proxy form from the download area and return it to the CEO.
