Our purpose

The Division is committed to advancing the field of analytical and environmental chemistry through the support of our members by building and maintaining relationships among analytical and environmental chemists, arranging regular meetings and conferences, and promoting the teaching of analytical and environmental at high schools and tertiary institutions.

Regular Events 

 

R&D Topics is a postgraduate conference focusing on research in Analytical and Environmental Chemistry.:

  • We invite Honours, MSc, PhD and young scientists from industry/ government (up to 4 years post BSc or equivalent) to submit abstracts for oral presentations and/ or poster presentations.
  • We also invite post doctoral fellows (up to 3 years post PhD) to submit abstract for poster presentations

  • Paul Haddad Medal

    • (formerly known as the Peter W. Alexander Medal) is awarded for excellence in pure or applied scientific work in analytical chemistry in Australia, and for service to Analytical Chemistry by individuals or by RACI State Groups.

  • Graeme Batley Medal

    • The medal will be awarded for excellence in pure or applied scientific work in Australia that involved substantial analytical chemistry, or for service to Analytical Chemistry in Australia, over the prior fifteen years.

  • Environmental Chemistry Medal
    • The medal will be awarded for excellence in scientific work in Australia that has involved substantial environmental chemistry, or for service to Environmental Chemistry in Australia, over the past ten years.

  • Original Research Publication Award
    • This Division award recognises research publications from higher degree research students that are lead author on a peer-­‐reviewed research manuscript.
