RACI NSW Pharmaceutical Sciences Group Webinar
Ingredient Supply and Change of Sources for Medicine Manufacture
Monday 7 December at 2.00 to 4.00pm AEDT
Last April the Pharm group organised a webinar as to how Covid-19 was affecting medicine manufacture and test facilities and the supply chain. It was hoped by all and indeed expected by many that life would be back to “normal” by November 2020. Six months onwards it is apparent that there is no immediate reversal to our current practices and challenges and that longer term planning and implementation of changes are necessary.
This applies especially to the supply chain of medicines themselves and ingredients and components for their manufacture in Australia.
Projected and real shortages of supply of materials from overseas pose an on-going challenge to Australian medicine manufacturers and suppliers, resulting in real and potential critical supply to the consumer.
Dr Felicity Jameson, and Dr Karen Loft from TGA Pharmaceutical Chemistry Variations Section will cover supply issues for Australian companies and the regulatory activities taken to address them.
Rebecca Lee of Merck will update her April presentation, based upon the experiences of the past 6 months and project future supply of medicinal and other chemicals and biologicals.
At this time of writing, a presenter from a manufacturer or supplier has yet to be confirmed.
