with our guest speaker Jonathan Baell on Thursday,

Professor
Jonathan Baell is an NHMRC Principal Research Fellow, and a Larkins Fellow at
Monash University where since 2012, he has been a research-only Professor in
Medicinal Chemistry. He is a medicinal chemist with a publication portfolio
that includes numerous granted patents, papers in Nature, Nature Chemical
Biology and frequently in the top specialist journal - Journal of Medicinal Chemistry. His research
interests include high throughput screening (HTS) library design, hit-to-lead
medicinal chemistry, infectious and neglected diseases, epigenetic modifiers
and anticancer medicinal chemistry, and peptidomimetic design and synthesis. His
2010 PAINS publication in J. Med. Chem. has already been cited as of July 2020
more than 2000 times. He sits on several company and journal SABs and EABs and
is a Senior Editor of Future Medicinal Chemistry along with other editorial
responsibilities.
