We are delighted to announce that the Peptide User’s Group (PUG) 2023 Winter Symposium will be held in hybrid format on Friday June 30.

Our Plenary Speaker is Professor Mark Hulett from La Trobe University, who will present his cutting edge research on defensin peptides. The symposium will also feature our Invited Speakers Dr Mohammad Haskali and Dr Amandeep Kaur, early- and mid-career researchers (EMCRs), and students (who will be in the running for cash prizes).

We are currently accepting abstract submissions for oral presentations from students and EMCRs (postdocs within ten years full-time equivalent from their PhD graduation).

Students and postdocs are eligible to submit an abstract if they reside in Victoria, interstate, or New Zealand. A maximum of nine abstracts will be selected for oral presentations. 

To support in-person attendance, interstate and New Zealand PhD students who wish to present will automatically be considered for one of two A$500 travel bursaries, which will be awarded to the highest ranked abstracts. To qualify for a bursary, a letter of support from your supervisor must also be supplied, indicating that additional funding will be provided to cover the remainder of your travel expenses.

Please note that this is a hybrid symposium. Therefore, if your abstract is selected it will be possible to present your work remotely if you cannot attend in person.
Abstracts must be submitted by 5:00 pm (AEST) on Monday May 29 using the attached template. Successful applicants (including bursary awardees) will be contacted by Monday, June 5.

The cost to register for the symposium is as follows:

RACI members: $20
Non-RACI members: $25
All students: $15
Online attendance: FREE

Registration is essential to attend this event and we encourage you to do so as soon as possible, to help us plan with our planning. Please note that group registration is also possible.
