Scitech in Perth has taken an explosive and theatrical approach to this year’s International Chemistry & Art Competition, bringing their entry in the Institutional Round to life with a spectacular live performance—and we couldn’t be more excited to share it with you!
Titled Ignite Your Curiosity, Scitech’s Science Theatre Performance is anything but traditional. There’s no narration—just pure, unfiltered curiosity. Audiences are treated to a thrilling fusion of chemistry-fuelled stunts, musical storytelling, and interactive spectacle, where reactions aren’t just chemical—they’re emotional, too. The show invites the audience to predict, react, and participate, as dramatic experiments unfold in sync with an energetic soundtrack. 🔥🎶
And the chemistry doesn’t stop there.
During the July school holidays, Scitech’s incredible team of Science Communicators will also be popping up around the centre with a suite of chemistry-themed busking demos. These short, sharp performances include:
🧪 Painting with acids and bases using universal indicators
🌈 Colourful transformations and fizzy surprises
🎨 Hands-on science designed to spark creativity
It’s all part of Scitech’s commitment to showing that chemistry is art—and art is chemistry.
