RACI Welcomes New Science and Industry Leadership in Federal Government
The Royal Australian Chemical Institute (RACI) warmly welcomes the appointment of Senator the Hon. Tim Ayres as Minister for Industry and Innovation and Minister for Science, and Dr. Andrew Charlton MP as Assistant Minister for Science, Technology and the Digital Economy, following the recent Cabinet reshuffle announced by Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.
RACI CEO, Mr. Shenal Basnayake said,
I believe that Senator Ayres and Dr. Charlton will bring a wealth of experience and commitment to advancing Australia’s scientific and industrial capabilities and we look forward to working closely with them to support the chemical sciences and broader STEM community. I also take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude to the Hon. Ed Husic MP, the outgoing Minister for Industry and Science, for his engagement with the RACI and the broader scientific community, and commitment to strengthen Australia’s research and innovation ecosystem.
With renewed leadership in Canberra, the RACI is committed to advancing the chemical sciences as a catalyst for Australia’s bold scientific and economic ambitions.
