Thought I would break the ice and kick off the first post in the Polymer Division.
Like the introduction sections, I'd like us to introduce ourselves and describe our involvement in this field.
For me, the majority of my career, I was involved in PVC polymer stabilization in industry, which involved formulating additive packages for PVC product manufacturers e.g. pipe, profile, siding, and cable applications. An additive package can contain 10 or more chemical components of mostly organic nature.
The more interesting application is PVC 3D Printing, where a specific additive package had to be designed for this application, as the physical and chemical conditions are quite strenuous to the PVC chain.
I am quite disheartened that polymer manufacturing/processing is under significant challenges in this country - Qenos closing down is a body blow for example, so I hope things will be better in the future.
