    Hello Division members,

Recently HSE Division Committee member Adrian Thomas attended the Australian Society of Cosmetic Chemists (ASCC) "Unlocking AI - Hands-On Learning for Cosmetic Professionals Workshop" held on 19 March 2026.  Our committee thought it was worth sharing with the wider HSE Division, as we all continue to work in a field where AI is making itself felt.

    1. Regarding the Australian Society of Cosmetic Chemists (ASCC) "Unlocking AI - Hands-On Learning for Cosmetic Professionals Workshop" held on 19 March 2026, I'm attaching my notes.
    2. Also, I am attaching:
      1. A copy of the article I read in "The Age".
    1. Also, in my travels, I came across the following publications which may be of interest to consult regarding Artificial Intelligence (AI):
    1. Kulkarni Shrikaant, Bhandari Shashikant, Varshney Dushyant, William P.,(2025), "Artificial Intelligence for Chemical Sciences - Concepts, Models, and Applications", ISBN: 978-1-77491-832-6 (Printed Hardback), ISBN: 978-1-77491-833-3 (Printed Paperback); ISBN: 978-1-00356-928-2 (Electronic), Apple Academic Press Inc., Palm Bay, FL, USA and Burlington, ON, Canada.
    2. McKew Brian, (2026), "AI Revolution in Chemistry", ISBN: 978-1-83707-215-6 (Printed), ISBN: 978-1-83707-188-3 (Electronic PDF); ISBN; 978-1-83707-216-3 (Electronic ePub), The Royal Society of Chemistry, Cambridge, UK.
        1. This publication of 118 pages is planned to be published on 27 July 2026.
        2. Please note that Royal Society of Chemistry UK (RSC) members normally get a 30% discount on all RSC publications, so maybe this could be a good reason to join the RSC.
    1. Whittle Jon, (2026), "AI for Business – A Guide to AI Adoption", ISBN: 978-1-48632-142-1 (Printed), ISBN: 978-1-48632-143-8 (Electronic PDF), ISBN: 978-1-48632-144-5 (Electronic ePub), CSIRO Publishing, Clayton, VIC, Australia.
    2. Zhu Xi, (2025), "AI and Robotic Technology in Materials and Chemistry Research", ISBN: 978-3-527-35428-3 (Printed); ISBN: 978-3-527-84882-9 (Electronic PDF); ISBN: 978-3-527-84881-2 (Electronic ePub), Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim, Germany.
    1. Coincidently I had a message from the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) in the UK pointing out a number of webinars in relation to AI and ChemSpider (the free RSC database for chemicals), and it looks like anybody can access the webinars, I provide the link below:

    1. I hope you find this information of interest.
