Gordon Research Conference (Chemistry Education Research and Practice)
    June 27 - July 2, 2027 Maine, United States

The 2027 Gordon Research Conference on Chemistry Education Research and Practice will bring together chemistry educators, researchers, and practitioners from around the world for an intensive five-day meeting focused on the future of chemistry teaching and learning. Set in the collaborative GRC format, the conference features cutting-edge, largely unpublished research, extended discussion sessions, poster presentations, and informal networking designed to foster lasting collaborations across career stages. Responding to rapid technological advances that are reshaping access to knowledge and problem-solving in chemistry, the meeting will explore fundamental questions about what it means to know, do, learn, and teach chemistry in contemporary contexts. By engaging with perspectives from chemistry, science education, the learning sciences, and discipline-based education research, participants will work toward shared understandings of critical concepts and skills, curriculum and instructional design, student and instructor needs, and emerging research methods that can strengthen chemistry education research and practice for the future.

Applications to attend due March 30, 2027
    IUPAC | CSC 2027
    July 9 - 16, 2027 Montreal, Canada
The IUPAC | CSC 2027 Joint Congress in Montréal, themed "Engaging Chemistry," will bring together scientists, educators, and innovators to explore chemistry across interconnected scales, from the quantum, molecular, nano, and macro/supramolecular levels to human and global challenges. This scale-based framework highlights chemistry's role in advancing fundamental discovery, materials and energy innovation, health and sustainability, while also addressing broader societal issues such as climate change, artificial intelligence, resource management, policy, and education. For the chemistry education community, the meeting provides a valuable opportunity to showcase how teaching and learning can connect concepts across scales, disciplines, and real-world contexts, preparing students to engage with complex scientific and societal challenges.
Symposia proposals due: September 2, 2026
Abstract submissions open: October 15, 2026
