I am reaching out to you as we have received a request from Standards Australia for a representative to sit on their Lab Safety and Design committee. The current rep on the committee is stepping down and needs to be replaced.
Below are the details of the committee supplied to me by Standards Australia.
Title: CH-026 Laboratory Safety and Design
Scope:
Standardisation of procedures for the safe operation of laboratories, laboratory safety equipment such as fume cupboards, and general laboratory design and construction. Included: procedures for the safe operation of laboratories, including chemical and microbiological safety, ionising and non-ionising radiation, and procedures for the environmentally safe disposal of wastes
Current Projects:
AS 2982 Laboratory design and construction (in public comment resolution phase)
AS/NZS 2243.1 Safety in laboratories, Part 1: Planning and operational aspects (in drafting phase)
AS/NZS 2243.3:2022 Amd 1 Safety in laboratories, Part 3: Microbiological safety and containment (in drafting phase)
