Dear RACI Members,
Last year, I was fortunate that one of our members helped us form a relationship with Shanghai University, enabling us to host our ICQ Global Chemistry Educators Program there this past July. I remain extremely grateful to this member for the introduction, and for their assistance in helping us build this relationship- it made a real difference to the success of the program.
As we now look ahead to 2027 and 2028, I wanted to reach out to our community once again to ask: do any of you have ties to a university in Asia or South East Asia that might be interested in partnering with us to deliver this program?
We're looking for access to laboratories and classrooms where our contingent of Australian teachers can lead students from across Asia in hands-on chemistry experiences. Hosting the program at a university is a particular priority for us, as it gives students the opportunity to work in a professional laboratory setting- many schools in the region aren't equipped to the standard we're used to seeing in Australia, and giving students the best possible chemistry experience is something we care deeply about.
If you have any contacts you think might be interested in exploring a partnership with us, I'd love to hear from you. And of course, if you have any questions about the program itself, please don't hesitate to reach out.
Separately, if your business or institution might be interested in sponsoring this program- for example, by sponsoring an individual teacher or laboratory technician to attend (or the program as a whole) I'd be very glad to discuss this further with you.
