Dear Members,
We are writing to inform you of a recent incident involving spam messages that were posted within RACI's online community platform. We wanted to provide an update on what occurred and the steps we have taken in response.
Following our investigation, we believe the activity originated from a single member account that had been accessed without authorisation. As soon as the issue was identified, RACI took immediate action to secure the account, remove the spam content, and review access permissions.
At this stage, there is no evidence that RACI's broader member systems, community platform, or member database have been compromised, nor is there any indication that other member accounts have been affected. Our platform provider, Higher Logic, has advised that there is no evidence of a system-wide security breach, and the incident appears to be isolated to the affected account.
While investigations are ongoing, RACI is working closely with both Higher Logic and iMIS to understand how the unauthorised access occurred and whether any additional safeguards should be implemented.
Protecting our members' information remains our highest priority. We continue to monitor the situation closely and will take any further actions recommended through the investigation.
As a precaution, we encourage all members to:
- Use strong, unique passwords for online accounts.
- Avoid reusing passwords across multiple services.
- Ensure devices and security software are kept up to date.
- Remain vigilant for suspicious emails or online activity.
We understand that incidents of this nature can be concerning and appreciate your patience while we complete our review. Should our investigation identify any impact to member information, we will communicate directly with affected individuals.
Thank you for your continued trust and support.
