Course Objectives:
To provide participants with a detailed understanding of the legislative compliance issues pertaining to schools, to enhance the participant’s awareness of hazards, risk management and control methodologies as applied to schools and to provide specific practical training in the OHS issues pertaining to laboratory safety in the school environment.

- AS 2243. 2 Safety in Laboratories – Chemical Management
- Laboratory Worksite Inspections (practical activity)
- Risk Management
- Waste Management in Secondary Schools
Course Requirements:
As the course has a significant laboratory-based activity, participants will be required to wear enclosed shoes, sensible clothing (long pants) and tied back hair during practical sessions. Laboratory coats and safety glasses will be provided.

Materials supplied:
All relevant course materials. Disposable lab coats and safety glasses will be available for use, however if you wear prescription safety glasses then please bring them along.
Awards:
Participants will receive a certificate of attendance. Limited to 30 attendees.
