Following the success of the first 3-Minute Thesis Presentation in Chemical Sciences in 2025, the Australian Chapter of ACS and RACI are joining forces again in hosting a new series of competition in 2026, promising to be a bigger and a fiercer battle this year. In addition to NSW, QLD, SA, and VIC, we are excited to announce that NT, WA and TAS have also accepted the challenge of coming into the competition rink in 2026! The 3-Minute Thesis Presentation competition is open to all research students (Honours, Master-by- Research, Master of Science/Engineering, PhD) working in all research areas of chemical sciences (Analytical, Inorganic, Organic, Physical Chemistry and Chemical Engineering).
The Australian Chapter of ACS will then be organising an online finale scheduled on December 2. Generously sponsored by the Merck Group (https://www.merckgroup.com/en), a cash prize of $500 will be awarded to the winner in the finale, $300 to the first runner-up, and $200 to the second runner-up.
The NSW state competition will be held on Wednesday the 19th of August at 2 pm via Teams. Interested students should first contact the head of discipline at their respective university, before sending their nomination to the RACI NSW Committee (raci-nswcmt@raci.org.au).
