Join Us for the RACI Vic Branch Retirees’ Group's Monthly Lunch in May, online via Zoom.
GUEST SPEAKER: Dr William (Bill) Pitt Palmer
Bill has spent nearly 50 years in science education, with an international career spanning Britain, Nigeria, Papua New Guinea, Western Samoa and Australia. A former Senior Lecturer at Charles Darwin University and long-time Adjunct Research Associate at Curtin University, he has authored 300+ papers and reviews across his distinguished career.
In this fascinating talk, Bill will explore the history of chemistry education for nurses, drawing on his remarkable collection of 400 student laboratory manuals from the USA (1880–1950). He’ll spotlight early nurse educators and the manuals they wrote in the 1920s, offering a unique glimpse into how chemistry was taught to student nurses a century ago.
Come along for an engaging journey through chemistry, education, and history.
