We are pleased to announce that the Peptide User’s Group (PUG) 2022 Spring Symposium will be held in a hybrid format at Monash University’s Clayton Campus on Friday, November 18th, from 12:00 pm onwards. Please take note of the earlier than usual starting time.
C1 Lecture Theatre
25 Exhibition Walk (Bldg 63)
Monash University (Clayton)
Our plenary speaker is Professor Norelle Daly from James Cook University, who will present her cutting-edge research on the diversity in coral-derived peptides.
The symposium will also feature presentations from three early- and mid-career researchers (EMCR), as well as several PhD students who will be competing for a cash prize.
We are currently accepting abstract submissions for oral presentations at the Symposium from PhD students and EMCRs (postdocs within ten years full-time equivalent from their PhD graduation).
Students and postdocs are eligible to submit an abstract if they reside in Victoria, interstate, or New Zealand. A maximum of nine abstracts will be selected for oral presentations.
To support in-person attendance, interstate and New Zealand PhD students who wish to present will automatically be considered for one of two AUD 500 travel bursaries, which will be awarded to the highest ranked abstracts. To qualify for a bursary, a letter of support from your supervisor must be supplied, indicating that additional funding will be provided to cover the remainder of travel expenses (details below).
Abstracts must be submitted by 5:00 pm (AEDT) on Monday October 24th using the template that can be downloaded here. Successful applicants (including bursary awardees) will be contacted by Wednesday, October 26th.
You can submit your abstract here.
The cost to register for the symposium is $20 for RACI members, $25 for non-RACI members and $15 for students; all online participants will be able to register for free. We encourage you to register as soon as possible, to help us plan for catering.
There will also be a dinner following the Symposium, so please indicate if you would like to attend during the registration process. Please note that places are limited.
Finally, we would like to thank our sponsors for their generous financial support.
