will be speaking on 

"What makes Chemists the Best Occupational Hygenists?"

ABSTRACT:  “What makes Chemists the Best Occupational Hygienists?” – we’ll explore some of the unique qualities of chemists and how they process the data and the challenges they’re faced with, and ultimately use these super-powers for the protection of human health in the workplace.

BIO:  Matthew Deaves has been a Member Chartered Chemist (MRACI CChem) since 2008 and has used a diverse set of academic and experiential skills to add value to industry segments including Petrochemical, Fast Moving Consumer Goods and, more lately, Occupational and Environmental Sciences.  Matt boasts working on high-density rocket fuel, airborne contaminants in childcare, asbestos in beer and men’s hair removal…
Matt is passionate about sharing a love of science through effective science communication, and hopes to find out how to do it before giving this presentation!

Time:     From 5.30pm.  Presentation commences at 6.15pm. 

               Refreshments prior and at seminar conclusion

Venue:   Exhibition Area, Building 500, Curtin University

               Plenty of free parking is available close to the venue at this time of day.

Cost:      $12 Members, $15 Non-members, $5 students. This charge to cover refreshments (limited drinks and snacks). Please note the cost has increased to allow more diverse catering.
