About Yvonne
Background
I have been an RACI member since 2015 and was elected a Fellow in 2017. Currently I am the Business Development Manager, Plastic Additives, for BASF based in Melbourne.
- I am currently active in various areas within RACI as a committee member in Mentoring, Industrial Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry, Victorian Branch and Women in Chemistry
- I was RACI Victorian Branch President (2018-2020) Treasurer (2016-2017) and RACI Victorian Women in Chemistry President (2015)
- I am currently active in other committees of the Australian Academy of Science, National Chemistry Committee Member, Victorian Curriculum Assessment Authority, VCE Chemistry and Society of Plastics Engineers
- I have a Bachelor of Science (Honours), from La Trobe University (1994) and PhD Chemistry, Monash University (3rd year in University of Oxford, England) (1997)
- I taught 1st, 2nd & 3rd year Chemistry laboratory during my postgraduate study and research
- I have been an employee of BASF Australia Ltd (23 years’ industry experience) includes overseas experiences in Asia-Pacific, China, Hong Kong and Germany
- I have been a Diversity and Inclusion Council Member, BASF Australia since 2016.
RACI Direction as I see it
My aspiration is create a voice for industry, collaboration and innovation in various ways,
- connecting industry and academia by arranging events for networking, education and show-casing innovation to industry.
- sharing my experience and knowledge in promoting diversity, inclusion and belonging within RACI
- being a role model for everyone
- supporting research chemists in Australia
