Site tour and networking event
ANSTO/CSIRO

New Illawarra Road, Lucas Heights
1.30 pm, Wednesday 5th April 2023
Lucas Heights has been the home for nuclear science in Australia for 70 years, as the site of the first national research reactor, HIFAR, recently superseded by OPAL, one of the world’s most modern nuclear research reactors. With a focus on human health, the environment, and industrial/nuclear innovation, ANSTO provides world-class research facilities for thousands of scientists, including local, and visiting researchers from other Australian and international organisations. CSIRO facilities for minerals processing research and analysis are also located at Lucas Heights.
This tour of HIFAR, OPAL and CSIRO Minerals is free for RACI members and guests, but prior registration is essential, and numbers are limited. Please note that some personal information for security purposes will be required one week prior to the visit. Registrants will be advised of these requirements as well as given more detailed directions to the location.
Please contact Matthew Wilkinson, Chair NSW Industrial Chemistry Group, at [email protected].com for all enquiries relating to this event.
