INVITATION TO MEMBERS AND FRIENDS TO VISIT THE NEW BATTERY RESEARCH AND INNOVATION HUB

AT DEAKIN UNIVERSITY,

154 HIGHBURY ROAD, BURWOOD, VICTORIA 3125

Many of us recall the inspiring presentations last year at the seminar held at the Kelvin Club:  “The Hidden Hazards of Lithium Ion Batteries”.
The speaker from Deakin University, Dr Hiroyuki Ueda, described some of the groundbreaking work being undertaken there, and mentioned the new battery research hub then under construction near the current Deakin Burwood Campus.  This $10.3 million facility is now up and running, and RACI members and friends have been invited to tour the laboratory and listen to presentations on the work designed to improve the safety, cost-effectiveness, and efficiency of novel battery systems.
This will be a tremendous opportunity to learn about recent developments in this most important field.  This link tells you a bit more about the facility:  https://batteryhub.deakin.edu.au/about-us/
Registration is essential.
After our visit to the facility we propose to entertain our hosts from Deakin to dinner afterwards at a local restaurant.  Attendance is optional, and people will pay their own way for dinner.   (Please indicate when registering if you plan to stay on for a meal.)
Any questions or queries, please contact Dr Richard Thwaites on:  [email protected] or on 0407 862 367.
