Applied Research and Innovation Award

The Applied Research Award is given to a member of the Royal Australian Chemical Institute who in the opinion of the Board has contributed significantly towards the development of, or innovation through, applied research, or in industrial fields. This contribution will be judged on evidence submitted to the adjudicating panel.

About this award

The Medal shall be awarded annually to a full member (MRACI and above) of the RACI who, in the opinion of the Board of the RACI has contributed significantly towards the development of, or innovation through, applied research, or in industrial fields. This contribution shall be judged on evidence submitted to the adjudicating panel. This award requires nomination by a senior RACI member.

The nominated candidate is required to be a current member for a minimum of 3 years.

The award is judged on the candidate’s work covering the last 10 years or equivalent relative to opportunity. The work to be considered for the award should include a substantial contribution made within Australia.
The nomination document requirement is a current CV, a summary/synopsis of research outcomes and impact and up to four referee email and telephone contacts.

If in the opinion of the Board there is no candidate who has sufficient merit, the Board may refrain from making an award. The decision of the Board is final and no discussions or correspondence will be entered into.
