Energy Systems: From Materials to Measurement (WAG1678)

When:  Jul 11, 2024 from 12:00 to 16:30 (AWST)
Associated with  WA Branch

You are warmly invited to attend this half-day RACI WA Symposium.

Energy underpins our everyday lives, from running our household appliances, operating our cars, lighting our homes and places of work, to travelling the globe; however, the methods by which we source, transport and utilise that energy, together with the byproducts of its use and application, can have dire consequences for our world. In this half-day symposium, we will hear examples of the world-leading energy research underway here in Western Australia, including keynote, early/mid-career, and PhD talks.

This symposium aims to provide emerging WA researchers within the energy and decarbonisation space with a platform on which to present their work and discuss new research ideas. The event will be of interest to chemists, engineers, physicists and materials scientists looking to expand their knowledge of the forefront of ongoing energy research activities.

Speakers include:

  • Prof Mike Johns, The University of Western Australia & Future Energy Exports CRC (Keynote)
  • Dr Elodie Rousset, CSIRO
  • Dr Terry Humphries, Curtin University
  • Dr Zhijian Wan, CSIRO
  • Multiple PhD talks

STRICTLY LIMITED TO 20 PARTICIPANTS

A light lunch and afternoon tea will be provided thanks to our event and venue sponsor, The Forrest Research Foundation.

Parking is available along Hackett Drive and across the UWA campus (use of a mobile parking app may be necessary; note that parking is not available directly at the Forrest Research Foundation). The venue is well served by public transport (in particular the 995, 950 and Purple Cat TransPerth bus routes).
