I am currently a third year PhD Candidate at the University of South Australia, investigating novel chemotherapy treatments for castration-resistant prostate cancer. I joined the Royal Australian Chemical Institute, Early Career Chemists group (ECCG) in April 2022 as a committee member. I was previously involved with RACI during my undergraduate studies where I assisted with Science Alive: an interactive mobile exhibition spreading passion for science throughout Australia. In November 2022, I became the group chair of the ECCG. I was motivated by the amazing opportunity and challenge which was on offer, as well as the networks to be gained amongst peers and colleagues. The ECCG strives to spread passion for chemistry and the opportunities available to early career chemists, by hosting professional and social events throughout the year. Being a part of RACI has helped me immensely in my career, from professional growth to meeting likeminded individuals, of whom I can call close friends.
